Board contribution

A view of the enterprise.
A contribution to oversight.

Perspectives on strategy, technology, AI governance and resilience for board and advisory board conversations.

The contribution

A board needs to understand how decisions and dependencies across the enterprise affect its ability to create value, manage risk and remain viable. Technology and AI make those relationships increasingly consequential.

My contribution begins with the enterprise as a whole system, informed by more than 25 years of experience in enterprise technology, commercial leadership, strategy and business development.

My books and frameworks examine how initiatives become decidable, how authority and accountability operate, how technology changes work, and how resilience can be demonstrated.

Questions for the boardroom.

  • Which enterprise capabilities does our strategy actually require?
  • Where is AI already influencing consequential decisions?
  • What responsibility remains with management—and what evidence should the board expect?
  • Which dependencies could compromise critical functions?
  • Are we evaluating enterprise outcomes or isolated measures of activity?

Board and advisory
board opportunities.

I welcome conversations about formal board roles and advisory board participation where this experience and perspective can make a relevant contribution.

Role, mandate, independence, time commitment and potential conflicts should be examined for the specific opportunity. Executive briefings and board discussion sessions are also available as separate engagements.
